TVS diode for 20V rail protection
Its 600W peak pulse power rating gives it enough headroom for industrial and automotive surge events without oversizing the PCB footprint. The 22.2V minimum breakdown voltage and 32.4V clamping voltage define the protection window: the rail must tolerate the clamp level during a surge, and the breakdown must sit above the steady-state 20V supply.
Housed in the DO-214AA (SMB) package, this TVS is a drop-in fit for standard SMD reflow processes. The -65°C to 150°C junction temperature range covers cold-crank and underhood environments, though derating the peak pulse power above 25°C is necessary per the datasheet curve.
Active production – sourcing posture
Microchip lists the SMBJ20CAE3/TR13 as Active. Because it is a current-production part, there is no last-time-buy pressure.
