Why this 500W TVS exists for 6V rails
It clamps transients on a 6V nominal rail to 11.4V maximum at 43.9A peak pulse current.
The reverse standoff voltage is 6V — the diode draws negligible leakage below this level. Breakdown occurs at a minimum of 6.67V, and clamping is guaranteed at 11.4V maximum with the full 43.9A pulse current applied. This 5.4V window between standoff and clamp gives the rail enough headroom to ride through transients without exceeding the downstream device's absolute maximum rating.
