What the 60V breakdown buys the design
That threshold means the device stays transparent below 54V reverse standoff and only starts clamping once the transient pushes above 60V — a clean window for 48V or 54V rails that need to ride out normal ripple without leakage. The 5.2A peak pulse current gives the designer a hard limit for fuse coordination or downstream component stress.
Housed in a DO-214AC (SMA) package, this is a two-terminal surface-mount device with a cathode band on one end — orientation is obvious under magnification. The SMA body is small enough to rework with a standard hot-air station; the junction-to-ambient thermal path depends on the copper pad area under each terminal, so keep the footprint generous if the board sees repetitive surges.
