Transient suppressor for 40V rails
Its 44.4V minimum breakdown voltage and 71.4V maximum clamping at 7A peak pulse current define the protection window — the rail must tolerate the clamp voltage without secondary breakdown.
Clamp voltage and pulse current
At the 40V reverse standoff, the diode draws negligible leakage current. When a transient exceeds the 44.4V breakdown threshold, it conducts and clamps to 71.4V maximum at the rated 7A peak pulse current. The 500W peak pulse rating is the energy limit for a single 10/1000µs pulse — derate for repetitive events or higher ambient temperatures.
