The SMAJ160CAE3/TR13 is a bidirectional Zener TVS diode from Microchip Technology, rated for a reverse standoff voltage of 160V and a peak pulse power of 500W (10/1000 µs waveform). It clamps transients to a maximum of 259V at 1.9A peak pulse current, providing overvoltage protection on DC rails up to 160V nominal. The single bidirectional channel protects against both positive and negative surges, simplifying the BOM on AC or bipolar DC lines where polarity is not fixed.
