25 MHz MIPS32 microAptiv core in a 4x4 mm UQFN
The Microchip PIC32MM0016GPL028-E/M6 is a 32-bit single-core MCU built around the MIPS32 microAptiv processor, clocked at 25 MHz.
Supply rail and peripheral set for sensor and control loops
The MCU operates from a 2V to 3.6V supply rail, which allows direct connection to a single lithium-ion cell or a regulated 3.3V bus without an extra LDO. On-chip peripherals include a 12-channel ADC with 10- or 12-bit resolution, a single 5-bit DAC, and a PWM module for motor or LED drive.
Package and thermal pad — layout considerations
The 0.50 mm pitch limits breakout to a 4-layer board if all 22 I/O are used; a 2-layer board can route the inner rows but may need via-in-pad for the exposed-pad ground connection. Surface-mount assembly follows standard lead-free reflow profiles.
