QFN rework — what to expect
The 20-QFN (4x4 mm) with exposed pad is a hand-solderable package if you have a hot-air station and a fine tip. The exposed pad is the main thermal and electrical ground — make sure your PCB has a via array under it to pull heat away and to give the solder paste a place to wick. Orientation is marked by a chamfer on pin 1 corner; the pad is symmetric, so you can't rotate it 180° and still have the pinout match. Pre-bake at 125°C for 24 hours if the moisture-barrier bag has been open — MSL 3 parts can pop during reflow if they've absorbed humidity.
The part is ROHS3 compliant.
