28 KB Flash in a 14-pin body — what fits
It runs at 32 MHz from an internal oscillator, so no external crystal is needed for most timing tasks.
14-TSSOP — rework and routing
The 14-TSSOP (0.173" body width, 4.40 mm) is a fine-pitch SOIC variant — 0.65 mm lead pitch, easy to hand-solder with a decent iron and flux, and forgiving under hot air if you need to lift it. The 11 I/O are on the perimeter, so a two-layer board routes cleanly. No thermal pad to worry about; the package dissipates through the leads.
ROHS3 compliant. If a second-source hedge matters, the PIC16LF1559-I/SS is a close functional peer in the same PIC 16F family, though in a 20-pin SSOP package — verify pin compatibility if you need a drop-in alternate.
