Fixed 1.5V rail for noise-sensitive loads
The MIC5303-1.5YMT-TR is a single-output positive LDO regulator from Microchip that delivers a fixed 1.5 V output at up to 300 mA. It is designed for applications where a clean, regulated low-voltage rail is needed from a 5.5 V maximum input — think sensor supplies, MCU analogue rails, or RF front-end bias lines. The PSRR holds 65 dB at 1 kHz and rolls to 42 dB at 20 kHz, so it rejects switching-regulator ripple across the audio band and into the low-MHz noise spectrum. That matters when the LDO sits downstream of a buck converter.
Dropout and quiescent current — the BOM-fit numbers
Maximum dropout is 0.2 V at the full 300 mA load. That means the input can drop to 1.7 V before the output falls out of regulation — useful on a 3.3 V bus or a single-cell Li-ion rail near end-of-discharge. Quiescent current is 120 µA typical, which keeps the battery drain low in always-on subsystems. The enable pin lets a system controller shut down the regulator entirely when the rail is not needed. Protection includes over-current and over-temperature shutdown — no external clamp diodes needed for the usual fault conditions.
Package and temperature grade — where it fits
It comes in a 4-TMLF package (1.2 mm x 1.6 mm) with an exposed pad for thermal dissipation.
It is ROHS3 compliant.
