150 mA adjustable LDO with wide input range
The MIC5236YMM-TR is a positive adjustable LDO regulator from Microchip Technology, delivering up to 150 mA output current from a 30 V maximum input rail. The output voltage is adjustable from a 1.24 V reference up to 20 V using an external resistor divider. With a dropout voltage of just 0.5 V at full load, the input rail needs only 200 mV of headroom above the set output voltage to stay in regulation — useful when running from a battery that sags under load.
Protection suite and quiescent current
Built-in protection covers load dump, overcurrent, overtemperature, overvoltage, and reverse polarity — a combination that makes this regulator at home in automotive and industrial environments where the supply rail sees transients and wiring faults. Quiescent current is 30 µA typical, low enough to keep the regulator alive on a battery-backed rail without draining the cell during sleep modes.
Temperature range and package
The 8-MSOP package (3.00 mm width, 0.118" pitch) is small enough for compact boards but still hand-solderable with a fine-tip iron — no hot-air required. The Enable pin lets you shut down the output to near-zero quiescent current, handy for sequencing multiple rails or putting the load to sleep between active periods.
It is ROHS3 compliant, so it fits current assembly lines without exemption paperwork.
