1.8 V fixed LDO, 150 mA — SOT-23-5
The MIC5225-1.8YM5-TR is a positive fixed-output LDO regulator from Microchip Technology, delivering 150 mA at a regulated 1.8 V from a 16 V maximum input rail. The 0.45 V maximum dropout at full load means the input must stay above 2.25 V to hold regulation — tight headroom designs need that margin.
Dropout, protection, and temperature grade
Dropout is specified at 0.45 V max at 150 mA, so the regulator stays in regulation down to roughly 2.25 V input. The enable pin (active-high) lets a logic signal gate the output — useful for sequencing rails in a multi-voltage system. Built-in protection covers over-current, over-temperature, and reverse polarity — the reverse polarity clamp prevents damage if the input gets swapped. The -40°C to +125°C operating range covers automotive under-hood and industrial ambient, though the 150 mA limit drops with temperature per the internal thermal foldback.
Housed in a 5-pin SOT-23 (SC-74A / SOT-753), the package footprint is 2.9 mm × 1.6 mm with 0.95 mm pitch — a standard two-layer board routes it easily. The supply device package is SOT-23-5; the enable pin and output are adjacent, so keep the output capacitor within 10 mm of the pin to maintain loop stability.
