Product details

Dual 80 mA LDO with fixed 3.0 V rails

The MIC5211-3.0BM6 TR is a dual positive-output LDO from Microchip Technology, delivering 80 mA per channel from a fixed 3.0 V output. Both regulators share the same 3.0 V fixed voltage, making it a direct fit for powering dual 3 V supply rails in sensor interfaces, MCU analog sections, or transceiver bias circuits.

Dropout, protection, and quiescent draw

Maximum dropout is 0.5 V at 50 mA per channel — the input rail must stay at least 0.5 V above 3.0 V across the full load range to keep the output in regulation. For a 3.3 V input bus, that leaves 0.3 V of headroom worst-case; a 5 V rail gives comfortable margin. Built-in protection covers over-current, over-temperature, and reverse polarity — the part survives a miswired supply or a sustained output short without latching up or exceeding the junction limit. The Enable pin on each channel allows the system to shut down unused regulators and cut the quiescent current to near zero. Maximum supply current is 1.2 mA — the LDO's own draw is low enough for battery-powered designs where every microamp matters, though the 80 mA output ceiling means it is sized for low-power peripheral rails, not core logic.

SOT-23-6 footprint and sourcing

Housed in the SOT-23-6 package (supplier device package SOT-23-6), the part occupies a 2.9 mm × 1.6 mm footprint — fits into the same land pattern as many single LDOs, so a dual-rail design does not require extra board area. The Enable pin is on pin 3; the two outputs are on pins 4 and 6.
