500 mA adjustable LDO with 75 dB PSRR — the clean-rail choice
The MIC5209YU is a single-output, adjustable positive LDO regulator from Microchip, delivering up to 500 mA. The 0.6 V maximum dropout at full 500 mA load means the input needs only 0.6 V of headroom above the set output — useful when running from a 5 V rail to get 3.3 V with margin.
Protection set and quiescent current
Built-in protection covers over-current, over-temperature, and reverse polarity. Quiescent current is 170 µA typical, and the maximum supply current is 25 mA. An enable pin (Control Features: Enable) allows the regulator to be shut down for power sequencing or low-power standby.
TO-263-5 package — thermal and mounting notes
The five-lead footprint (TO-263-5) is the same as the standard D²Pak with the centre pin omitted; the tab is the fifth connection. The mounting type is surface mount, and the package / case is listed as TO-263-6, D²Pak (5 Leads + Tab), TO-263BA — the six-position naming refers to the five leads plus the tab.
It is ROHS3 compliant.
