Low-side dual MOSFET driver for 1.5A gate drive
The Microchip MIC4427YMM is a dual-channel low-side gate driver designed to drive N-channel and P-channel MOSFETs. The part operates from a 4.5V to 18V supply rail, covering 5V and 12V gate drive voltages common in motor drives, DC-DC converters, and synchronous rectifier circuits. The non-inverting inputs and independent channel architecture allow flexible routing: two MOSFETs can be driven separately, or the channels can be paralleled for higher peak current into a single gate.
Logic interface and temperature range
The input logic thresholds are specified at 0.8V (VIL) and 2.4V (VIH), making the driver directly compatible with 3.3V and 5V logic families without external level translation. The 8-MSOP package (3.00mm body width) fits compact layouts while still supporting the 1.5A peak output.
Lifecycle and compliance
For dual-sourcing or higher-voltage half-bridge applications, the MIC4104YM is a related part but differs in configuration: it is a half-bridge driver with 2.0A peak output, 9V supply, and a 125°C operating temperature limit — not a direct pin-compatible substitute for the low-side MIC4427YMM.
