The MIC2214-JGYML is a dual-output LDO from Microchip Technology, packing a 150 mA and a 300 mA regulator in a single 10-MLF (3x3 mm) package. The fixed outputs are 2.5 V and 1.8 V — a common pairing for powering a 2.5 V analog rail and a 1.8 V digital core from one 5.5 V max input. The 80 µA quiescent current (Iq) covers both channels, so the part's own draw is low enough for battery-powered gear that spends most of its time in a light-load state. The PSRR sits at 60 dB at 1 kHz and rolls to 40 dB at 20 kHz — enough to clean up ripple from a switching pre-regulator feeding a sensitive analog front-end, but above 20 kHz the rejection drops and a post-filter may be needed.
Dropout, protection, and the temperature envelope
Maximum dropout is 0.25 V at 150 mA and 0.42 V at 300 mA — the headroom between input and the 2.5 V output must stay above 250 mV at full load on the smaller channel, or the output falls out of regulation. The 300 mA channel needs 420 mV of headroom worst-case. Both regulators include over-current and over-temperature protection, plus an enable pin and a power-on-reset function.
Package and board-fit for field replacement
No lab bench needed for a swap, but the exposed pad means a hot-air station or a reflow profile, not a standard iron.
