Digital temperature sensor with I²C interface
The MCP9801-M/MS is a digital local temperature sensor from Microchip Technology, outputting temperature data over an I²C/SMBus interface with 11-bit resolution. It senses temperatures from -55°C to 125°C, matching the full operating temperature range of the device, and delivers a typical accuracy of ±1°C (maximum ±3°C) across the -10°C to 85°C test window.
Supply voltage and programmable features
Operating from a 2.7V to 5.5V supply, the sensor integrates programmable limit registers, a one-shot conversion mode, an output switch, and a shutdown mode for power-sensitive applications. The 8-MSOP package (3.00 mm width) suits space-constrained PCB layouts where a surface-mount footprint is required.
