The MCP9700T-H/TTVAO is an analog-output temperature sensor from Microchip's MCP9700 family, qualified to AEC-Q100 Grade 0 for automotive applications. Its output scales linearly at 10 mV per degree Celsius, so a 0°C reading gives 0.5 V, 25°C gives 0.75 V, and 125°C gives 1.75 V — no external calibration or lookup table needed. The analog output swings from 0.27 V at -40°C to 2.0 V at +150°C, staying within the common-mode input range of most microcontrollers' ADCs.
Accuracy band and temperature range
Accuracy is specified as ±2°C typical over the 0°C to 70°C range, widening to -4°C / +6°C at the -40°C and +150°C extremes. For an engine-bay temperature monitor that sees -40°C cold starts and 125°C under-hood soak, the wider tolerance at the extremes is the real error budget the system designer must account for. The local sensing range covers -40°C to +150°C, matching the AEC-Q100 Grade 0 temperature profile. This is the under-hood band — a transmission control module or battery management system that sees 105°C ambient still has 45°C of margin before the sensor's abs-max.
