Output is an analog voltage proportional to temperature — no I2C or SPI bus required. This simplifies firmware: a single ADC channel reads the voltage and applies the linear transfer function. The local sensing range matches the operating temperature range at -40°C to 125°C.
Shutdown mode and package fit
The Shutdown Mode feature lets the sensor enter a low-power state between readings — relevant for battery-powered data loggers or wireless sensor nodes where the average current budget is tight. The SOT-23-3 package (TO-236-3 / SC-59 equivalent) occupies minimal board area and is a standard footprint for passive and active components in mixed-signal designs.
