Programmable temperature switch with ±0.5°C accuracy
The MCP9510HT-E/CH is a programmable thermostat IC from Microchip Technology, part of the MCP9510 family. It provides a temperature trip point that is set by the user, with a typical accuracy of ±0.5°C — this is the figure that governs the switching threshold, not a wider band. The output is available in both Active High and Active Low configurations, with Open Drain or Push-Pull drive capability, so the same part can interface to a microcontroller GPIO or a discrete logic gate without an external inverter.
Programmable trip point and hysteresis
The trip temperature is programmable, not factory-fixed, so one BOM line serves multiple thermal setpoints across a product family. Selectable hysteresis prevents output chatter near the threshold — the part latches cleanly above the trip and releases below it minus the hysteresis band. The output function is OverTemp and /OverTemp, giving complementary signals from a single sensor.
SOT-23-6 package and surface-mount assembly
The SOT-23-6 package is a standard small-outline transistor footprint, 6-lead, with a 0.95 mm pitch. It is suitable for reflow soldering and requires no exposed thermal pad — the junction-to-ambient thermal resistance is low enough for the 20 mA output load without derating.
