Instrumentation amp for bridge and sensor front-ends
The Microchip MCP6N11T-001E/MNY is a single-channel instrumentation amplifier designed for precision sensor signal conditioning where common-mode rejection matters more than a general-purpose op-amp can deliver. With a gain-bandwidth product of 500 kHz and a 9 V/µs slew rate, it handles thermocouple, strain-gauge, and bridge-type sensor outputs without the external resistor network a three-op-amp discrete instrumentation amp would need. The rail-to-rail output stage keeps the signal swing usable right up to the supply rails, which is helpful when the supply is as low as 1.8 V.
Supply range and single-supply fit
The 800 µA supply current is modest for an instrumentation amp — the architecture inherently draws more than a basic op-amp, but this part stays under a milliamp while delivering the input-stage precision that makes instrumentation amps useful. The input bias current of 10 pA means you can use high-impedance sensors (pH probes, piezoelectric elements) without the offset drift that bipolar-input parts would introduce.
Package and temperature grade
The 8-TDFN package (2x3 mm, exposed pad) is a space-saver for multi-channel data-acquisition boards or portable instruments. The industrial temperature grade qualifies it for engine-bay, outdoor telecom cabinet, and factory-floor sensor modules.
