The MCP4662T-104E/MF is a dual-channel digital potentiometer from Microchip's MCP46XX family, configured as a rheostat with 100 kOhm end-to-end resistance and 257 tap positions per channel. Linear taper means the resistance between the wiper and terminal B changes by a constant step of about 390 Ohm per tap — no log scaling, so this part is suited for voltage dividers, programmable gain amplifiers, and calibration trims rather than audio volume control. Non-volatile memory stores the wiper position at power-off via internal EEPROM — the IC powers up at the last programmed tap, eliminating the need for a firmware re-initialization routine on every POR cycle.
