22-bit sigma-delta ADC for low-frequency precision
The MCP3553T-E/MS is a 22-bit sigma-delta ADC from Microchip, delivering 22 bits of resolution at a sampling rate of 60 samples per second — a pairing that suits low-bandwidth sensor channels where noise rejection matters more than throughput. The differential input architecture rejects common-mode noise picked up on long sensor leads, so the 22-bit code stays clean even when the signal source is a few meters from the ADC. Communication runs over SPI, keeping the pin count low — the 8-MSOP package (3.00 mm width) fits on a compact two-layer board without needing a fine-pitch fan-out.
Temperature grade and supply flexibility
The external reference input lets you set the full-scale range to match the sensor output — a ratiometric bridge or a 2.5 V precision reference both work with the same pin.
