Package and board-fit for precision analog
The MCP1501T-33E/RW comes in an 8-WFDFN exposed pad package (2x2 mm WDFN footprint), surface-mount, supplied on tape and reel or cut tape.
Precision that sets the ADC reference budget
Initial tolerance is ±0.1% — that is 3.3 mV max deviation from the nominal 3.3 V at 25°C. For a 12-bit ADC with a 3.3 V reference, this error is about 1.3 LSBs of the reference itself, before the ADC's own gain and offset. Temperature drift adds 50 ppm/°C (165 µV per °C), so across the full -40 to +125°C range the reference shifts by up to 8.25 mV. Budget this into the system accuracy calculation; a 16-bit converter may need a tighter drift spec or a calibration cycle.
Supply headroom and output drive
Quiescent current is 550 µA typical, and the output can source or sink 20 mA. That 20 mA ceiling covers the ADC reference input current plus any external load; stay below it to keep the output in regulation.
Microchip lists this part as Active (current production).
