Quad temperature sensor with beta compensation
The EMC1414-A-AIA-TR is a digital temperature sensor that monitors one local and up to three remote diode-connected transistors, using beta compensation to correct for low-gain or process-variant remote diodes — handy when the remote sensor is an on-die substrate PNP on a CPU or FPGA that doesn't match the ideal diode model. Resolution is 10 bits, with the SMBus interface handling the readout; the output switch and programmable limit let you set an alert threshold that trips when the temperature wanders outside the window, and the one-shot mode wakes the sensor from standby for a single measurement without continuous conversion. Remote sensing range extends from -64°C to 191°C, so it can read a hot MOSFET case or a cold-chamber reference without the local sensor's temperature limit getting in the way.
