70 MIPs core — what it buys for the control loop
That instruction throughput is the headline number for motor-control and power-conversion loops: at 70 MIPs a PI current loop with sensor feedback can close in under 2 µs, leaving headroom for commutation sequencing and fault handling. The 44-QFN package (8x8 mm exposed pad) keeps the thermal path short for the on-chip PWM drivers.
Motor-control peripheral set — PWM, QEI, CAN
This part carries a dedicated Motor Control PWM module plus a Quadrature Encoder Interface (QEI) for position feedback from an incremental encoder. The CANbus controller (listed under connectivity) handles multi-drive coordination or fieldbus gateways without an external transceiver IC. The 9-channel A/D converter can be configured as 10-bit or 12-bit resolution, matching the feedback resolution to the loop speed requirement.
