Blank programmable — not a fixed-frequency part
The DSC8123CI5: This is a blank (user-programmable) device — it ships without a pre-set output frequency and must be programmed before use, typically with Microchip's programming tools or a pre-programmed order code. For a BOM line that expects a fixed-frequency oscillator, confirm the programming step is accounted for in the assembly flow; otherwise order a factory-programmed variant from the DSC8123 family.
The LVDS output requires a 100-ohm differential termination at the receiver end; the PCB trace pair should be impedance-controlled to 100 ohms differential and kept matched in length to preserve signal integrity up to 460 MHz.
Sourcing and lifecycle status
No official second-source or pin-compatible alternative is recorded from Microchip; the DSC8123 series is the only MEMS LVDS family at this ±10 ppm grade.
