Supply flexibility and standby function
The DSC8102BI2: The standby function (pin-controlled) drops the core current to near-zero when the oscillator is not needed, useful for power-gated domains in automotive body controllers or telematics units.
Blank-programmable for BOM consolidation
Supplied as a blank (user-programmable) device — the same order code covers any frequency in the 10 MHz to 460 MHz range, programmed at the board-assembly step via Microchip's field-programming kit or a programming house. This reduces line-item count for a multi-frequency BOM: one DSC8102BI2 inventory line serves every oscillator socket that needs LVPECL output in that frequency band.
Surface-mount, supplied in Tube; the small footprint frees board area for decoupling capacitors near the supply pins, which is critical for maintaining LVPECL signal integrity at 460 MHz.
Active lifecycle and sourcing posture
AEC-Q100 qualification means the device ships with automotive-grade traceability and reliability screening — relevant for PPAP submissions and zero-defect programs.
