Frequency stability and temperature envelope
For a 26 MHz reference, that is a maximum drift of ~650 Hz — well within the capture range of a typical CAN or Ethernet PHY PLL. Current draw is 3 mA typical, which is about a tenth of what a comparable quartz oscillator consumes at this frequency. In a battery-backed ECU or a sensor node that stays powered during ignition-off, that current saving stretches the standby budget.
