Why 127 kHz matters in a MEMS oscillator
The DSC6043JA3B-127K000: At 127 kHz, this is not a high-speed clock for a processor or SerDes — it is a low-frequency timing reference for CAN/LIN transceivers, watchdog timers, RTC backup, or a sleep-mode keep-alive oscillator. The MEMS resonator gives it a start-up time under 5 ms, which beats a quartz crystal that can take 10–20 ms to stabilize at this frequency.
Temperature grade and automotive qualification
Rated -40°C to +125°C with AEC-Q100 qualification, this oscillator is specified for the full automotive temperature envelope — under-hood ECU, transmission controller, or cabin module. No derating needed at 125°C ambient. Frequency stability is ±20 ppm across the entire temperature range — tight enough for CAN-FD bit timing (which typically requires ±1.5% or ±15000 ppm) and well within LIN 2.2A specs. For precision applications like GPS or Ethernet, you would need a TCXO or OCXO.
Four pins: VDD, GND, OUT, and OE (enable/disable).
Sourcing and lifecycle posture
Packaged in tube, not tape-and-reel — if your pick-and-place line expects reeled parts, request reel packaging at order time or plan a tube-to-reel transfer.
