Frequency stability and output drive
The DSC6021CI2A-00EQ: Frequency stability is specified at ±25 ppm across the operating range — tight enough for most UART, SPI, and I2C bus clocking, though a 10 ppm or better oscillator would be needed for a high-precision GPS or Ethernet reference. The output is CMOS, with a typical supply current of 1.3 mA max — low enough that a small LDO feeding the oscillator adds negligible thermal load, even in a densely populated board section.
Sourcing reality for an obsolete MEMS oscillator
A board redesign may be required if the dual-frequency output (12 MHz + 48 MHz) is not available in another single-package MEMS oscillator from the DSC60XX family.
