MEMS oscillator, 10 MHz, CMOS — what the scorch mark tells you
The DSC6013CE1A-010.0000: Unlike a quartz crystal, the MEMS resonator has no start-up time issues and a different failure signature — when a board comes in dead and the clock line is flat, the MEMS die itself is the suspect, not a cracked quartz blank. The ±50 ppm frequency stability holds across that band, so it's a solid fit for general-purpose clocking in automotive-qualified (AEC-Q100) designs that don't push the temperature envelope.
Microchip has marked the DSC6013CE1A-010.0000 as Obsolete. If you're repairing a board that uses this oscillator, the scorch mark might not be on the MEMS die itself — but finding a genuine replacement means vetting the supply chain per RFQ.
