The DSC6003MI3B-032K768T is a MEMS-based oscillator from Microchip's DSC60XXB series, delivering a 32.768 kHz CMOS output with ±20 ppm frequency stability. It operates from a single 1.71V to 3.63V supply, covering 1.8V, 2.5V, and 3.3V rails without an external regulator. AEC-Q100 qualification (Grade 2, -40°C to +85°C) makes this oscillator suitable for automotive cabin and body electronics—think infotainment clocks, RTC references, or CAN transceiver timing—where reliability under temperature cycling and vibration is required.
The MEMS base resonator eliminates the need for external load capacitors and the crystal itself—the oscillator is a single 2.00 mm × 1.60 mm 4-VFLGA package. Startup is typically under 5 ms, and there is no crystal aging drift over the product lifetime. Compared to a traditional quartz 32.768 kHz crystal plus two load caps, the MEMS approach saves roughly 4–6 mm² of board area and removes the risk of crystal start-up failure in low-voltage or noisy environments.
Enable/Disable function and power management
This is useful in battery-backed or automotive sleep-mode designs where every microamp counts.
