MEMS oscillator for automotive and industrial clocking
The DSC6003CI2A-004.0000T is a MEMS-based XO (standard oscillator) from Microchip's DSC60XX series, delivering a fixed 4 MHz CMOS output across a wide supply range of 1.71V to 3.63V. The MEMS resonator eliminates the quartz crystal's mechanical failure modes — no start-up jitter from a cold crank, no frequency shift from board flex. AEC-Q100 qualification means it has passed the automotive reliability stress suite: temperature cycling, ESD, latch-up. That makes it a candidate for under-hood or cabin electronics where a ceramic resonator might drift or a crystal might fracture under vibration.
Microchip has marked the DSC6003CI2A-004.0000T as Obsolete.
Package and temperature grade for the layout
The 4-VDFN package measures 3.20 mm x 2.50 mm with a seated height of 0.90 mm. That is a standard MEMS oscillator footprint — the pad layout matches many 4-pin DFN oscillators from other vendors. The -40°C to 85°C operating range covers industrial and automotive cabin environments; the part will survive a 105°C engine bay if the actual die temperature stays within spec, but the ambient rating is 85°C. The Enable/Disable function lets the system shut down the oscillator output without cycling the supply — useful for power-sensitive nodes that sleep between bus transactions.
