Obsolete status and sourcing path
A board-level redesign with a current DSC60XX series variant (same package and supply range) is the practical migration path.
Capable is not qualified: the AEC-Q100 mark means the part passed the full suite of JEDEC reliability tests (preconditioning, temperature cycling, ESD, latch-up) under the Microchip qualification program.
MEMS resonator and wide supply range
Supply voltage spans 1.71V to 3.63V — the oscillator runs directly off a 1.8V, 2.5V, or 3.3V rail without an external LDO. The wide range simplifies a multi-rail BOM by eliminating a dedicated oscillator regulator. Output is CMOS with an Enable/Disable function — the output goes high-Z when the enable pin is low, allowing shared clock lines to be tri-stated without an external buffer.
Housed in a 4-SMD, No Lead package measuring 2.00mm x 1.60mm with a seated height of 0.89mm — the same footprint as standard quartz oscillators, so no PCB layout change is needed when substituting. Surface-mount assembly with a typical reflow profile — the MEMS die is encapsulated, so no special moisture sensitivity level (MSL) handling beyond standard JEDEC MSL 1 is expected.
