MEMS clock source for automotive and industrial boards
The DSC6001MI1B-025.0000 is a 25 MHz MEMS-based XO (Standard) oscillator from Microchip's DSC60XXB series, delivering a CMOS output from a 1.8V to 3.3V supply rail. AEC-Q100 qualification means this part passed the automotive-grade stress tests: temperature cycling, ESD, and latch-up. It fits cabin and engine-bay ECUs where the ambient stays within -40°C to 85°C. The MEMS resonator gives better shock and vibration immunity than a quartz crystal — relevant for transmission-mounted or chassis-mounted modules that see constant mechanical stress.
Package and layout constraints
Housed in a 4-VFLGA package measuring 2.00 mm x 1.60 mm with a seated height of 0.89 mm. The 4-pin land-grid array requires a solder-paste stencil aperture matched to the pad geometry — no via-in-pad needed, but the small footprint demands tight placement accuracy. The Enable/Disable function lets the system shut down the oscillator for low-power sleep modes. When disabled, the output goes high-impedance, not a fixed logic level — the downstream clock input should have a pull-down or be tri-stated.
The part is available for new designs and existing BOMs without last-time-buy pressure.
