12 MHz MEMS oscillator with automotive qualification
Supply voltage and frequency stability for BOM fit
The wide supply range of 1.71V to 3.63V means this oscillator can run directly from a 1.8V, 2.5V, or 3.3V rail without an extra LDO — the same part works across multi-voltage designs. Frequency stability is ±25 ppm, which holds the 12 MHz clock within 300 Hz over temperature and aging; adequate for MCU clocking, CAN transceivers, and basic serial communication.
The DSC6001JI2A-012.0000 is marked Obsolete by Microchip. No pin-compatible replacement from Microchip's current DSC60XX family has been identified; a board-level redesign may be needed if a direct drop-in is required.
Package and mounting for PCB layout
Housed in a 4-SMD, No Lead package measuring 2.50 mm x 2.00 mm with a seated height of 0.89 mm. The small footprint suits space-constrained automotive modules, but the no-lead design requires a solder-paste stencil with adequate aperture to avoid tombstoning. The surface-mount assembly is standard reflow-compatible.
