Selection mistake this part avoids
A quartz crystal oscillator in an automotive ECU often requires a separate load-capacitance calculation and can suffer from vibration-induced frequency shifts. The DSC6001JI1B-016.0000 uses a MEMS resonator instead, delivering a fixed 16 MHz CMOS output without external tuning components.
A single oscillator can serve a 1.8V MCU core, a 2.5V FPGA bank, or a 3.3V peripheral bus without a level translator.
Power budget and enable control
In a battery-backed RTC or always-on sensor node, that difference extends standby time measurably. The disable state draws near-zero current from the supply rail.
The 4-VLGA package measures 2.50 mm × 2.00 mm with a seated height of 0.89 mm. This is a standard 4-pin land-grid array — the PCB footprint matches many 2.5×2.0 mm MEMS oscillators from other vendors, simplifying second-sourcing.
