Active MEMS oscillator for automotive clocking
The DSC6001HI2B-038.4000 is an active-production MEMS-based XO from Microchip's DSC60XXB series, delivering a 38.4 MHz CMOS output with ±25 ppm frequency stability across the full -40 to +85°C industrial temperature range.
Wide supply tolerance and enable/disable control
The supply range spans 1.71 V to 3.63 V, covering 1.8 V, 2.5 V, and 3.3 V logic families without a separate regulator — the same BOM line works across multiple voltage domains. An integrated Enable/Disable function lets the output be tri-stated, cutting current draw to near zero for sleep modes or in-circuit test isolation.
4-VFLGA footprint and layout considerations
Housed in a 4-VFLGA package measuring 1.60 mm x 1.20 mm with a seated height of 0.89 mm, the land pattern requires a fine-pitch stencil and careful solder-paste volume control — the pad openings are smaller than a standard 0603 resistor footprint. Surface-mount assembly with a bagged shipping medium means the parts are tray- or tube-packed, not tape-and-reel; plan for manual or tube-fed pick-and-place.
As a current-series MEMS part, the DSC60XXB family is Microchip's standard automotive-grade oscillator line; no pin-compatible replacement or successor has been announced.
