Quad HCSL clock source — 100MHz or 125MHz on all four lanes
HCSL (High-Speed Current Steering Logic) is the common reference clock format for PCIe Gen1/2/3 interfaces — this oscillator directly drives the REFCLK inputs on a PCIe switch or endpoint without external level translation.
Supply flexibility and stability for mixed-voltage boards
Operates from 2.25V to 3.6V, covering both 2.5V and 3.3V rails — no separate LDO needed when the oscillator shares a rail with the downstream PCIe clock buffer. Frequency stability is ±50ppm over the -20°C to 70°C commercial range, sufficient for PCIe Gen3 reference clock jitter budgets (±300ppm total tolerance).
MEMS resonator — shock tolerance and supply-chain advantage
The MEMS base resonator replaces a quartz crystal — inherently more resistant to vibration and mechanical shock, which matters for equipment deployed in fan-cooled racks or near industrial motors. MEMS oscillators also avoid the long lead times and allocation cycles that quartz crystals sometimes see — the semiconductor fab flow is more predictable.
20-VFQFN package — layout and thermal notes
Housed in a 20-VFQFN with exposed pad, 5.00mm x 3.20mm body, 0.90mm height — the exposed pad must be soldered to a ground-plane island with thermal vias to keep the junction temperature within the commercial range.
