MEMS XO with quad LVDS outputs
The DSC400-3333Q0041KI2T is a MEMS-based XO (Standard) from Microchip that generates four independent LVDS clock outputs from a single resonator — 50 MHz, 200 MHz on output 1; 100 MHz on outputs 2 and 3; and 100 MHz or 250 MHz on output 4. This replaces the need for multiple crystal oscillators on a board, saving space and reducing BOM count.
Operates from 2.25 V to 3.6 V, covering 2.5 V and 3.3 V FPGA/ASIC I/O rails without an external regulator.
20-VFQFN exposed pad — rework and layout notes
The 20-VFQFN package (5.00 mm x 3.20 mm, 0.90 mm height) has an exposed pad that must be soldered to a thermal land on the PCB for heat sinking and mechanical stability. The pad is the only ground return for the die — a missing or poorly soldered pad can cause output jitter or intermittent failure. Rework tip: preheat the board to 125°C before hot-air removal to avoid lifting the pad. The part is moisture-sensitive — check the MSL label on the reel; if it has been exposed, a bake at 125°C for 48 hours is needed before reflow.
