Quad-output MEMS clock source for multi-rail boards
The DSC400-2222Q0022KI2 is a MEMS-based XO (Standard) oscillator from Microchip's DSC400 series that delivers four independent LVPECL clock outputs in a single 20-VFQFN package — 125 MHz, 100 MHz, 100 MHz, and 125 MHz. That means one component replaces up to four discrete oscillators, freeing board space and reducing BOM count on high-speed digital designs.
The supply range spans 2.25V to 3.6V, so it runs from a 2.5V or 3.3V rail without an extra regulator — useful when the board already has those rails and you want to avoid a second LDO just for the clock.
Package footprint and board layout considerations
The 5.00mm x 3.20mm body with 0.90mm height (0.197" x 0.126" x 0.035") and exposed thermal pad demands a via-in-pad or thermal-via array under the centre pad for proper heat sinking — a standard 4-layer board with a ground-plane flood under the part handles it cleanly.
Active lifecycle — no design-in deadline
Product status is Active per Microchip's current lifecycle designation.
