Four-output MEMS clock generator for multi-rail timing
The DSC400-1111Q0110KI1 is an active MEMS-based XO (Standard) from Microchip's DSC400 series, delivering four independent LVCMOS clock outputs at 12 MHz, 15 MHz, 40 MHz, and 13 MHz from a single 20-VFQFN package.
Supply tolerance and package layout considerations
Operating from a 2.25V to 3.6V supply, this oscillator runs directly off a 2.5V or 3.3V rail without an extra LDO — the wide tolerance absorbs rail ripple up to 300 mV without frequency drift. The 20-VFQFN exposed-pad package (5.00 mm x 3.20 mm, 0.90 mm height) requires a thermal pad on the PCB for proper heat dissipation and mechanical stability. Check the MSL before reflow — the exposed pad demands a solder paste stencil aperture that covers at least 50% of the pad area to avoid voids and tombstoning.
