Quad-output MEMS clock generator in 20-VFQFN
The DSC400-1111Q0081KE2 is a MEMS-based XO (Standard) oscillator that delivers four independent LVCMOS clock outputs from a single 5.00 mm × 3.20 mm, 20-VFQFN package with exposed pad for thermal relief. Output frequencies are factory-programmed to 27 MHz, 50 MHz, 25 MHz, and 12 MHz — a common mix for a processor core clock, a USB interface, a serial transceiver, and a low-speed peripheral bus, all in one device. Supply voltage spans 2.25 V to 3.6 V, so the same part works on a 2.5 V or 3.3 V rail without a separate regulator.
MEMS resonator versus quartz — the sourcing angle
MEMS oscillators have inherently shorter lead times and better shock/vibration tolerance than quartz crystal oscillators, which can be a sourcing advantage when quartz supply tightens. Frequency stability is rated ±25 ppm total over the -20°C to 70°C commercial temperature range — tight enough for 10/100 Ethernet and USB full-speed without a TCXO, but not rated for extended-temperature outdoor or automotive use.
