Dual-frequency MEMS oscillator for clock-tree consolidation
The DSC400-0401Q0103KE2T is a MEMS-based XO (standard oscillator) from Microchip's DSC400 series, delivering two fixed output frequencies from a single resonator: 12.288MHz on output 1 and 100MHz on output 2. Outputs are configurable as HCSL or LVCMOS logic levels, covering both high-speed serial reference and general-purpose clocking from one device.
Supply voltage and temperature grade — fit check
Supply range spans 2.25V to 3.6V, so it runs directly from a 3.3V or 2.5V rail without an intermediate LDO — answers the common 'is it 3.3V compatible' question with margin on both sides. For industrial or outdoor deployment, a wider-temperature variant of the DSC400 family would be needed.
Package and board-level considerations
Housed in a 20-VFQFN with exposed pad (5.00mm x 3.20mm, 0.90mm height), the thermal pad requires a solder paste stencil aperture and a via array under the pad for proper solder joint reliability and thermal dissipation — a four-layer board with a solid ground plane under the pad is typical. Supplied in tape and reel (TR) — the standard packaging for automated pick-and-place assembly.
