What this MEMS oscillator delivers for your clock tree
The DSC400-0111Q0029KE2 is a four-output MEMS-based XO that provides three pre-programmed frequencies: 12.288 MHz on output 1 and 11.2896 MHz on outputs 2 and 3, all with ±25 ppm frequency stability across -20°C to 70°C. It operates from a 2.25 V to 3.6 V supply, so it can be powered directly from a 2.5 V or 3.3 V rail without an intermediate regulator — a clean clock starts from a clean rail, and the wide input range keeps the phase noise floor independent of rail tolerance.
Housed in a 20-VFQFN Exposed Pad package measuring 5.00 mm x 3.20 mm with a seated height of 0.90 mm, the DSC400-0111Q0029KE2 fits tight PCB real estate but requires a thermal via array under the exposed pad to conduct heat to the ground plane — the datasheet layout recommendation should be followed for best thermal and electrical performance. The LVCMOS outputs are single-ended, so the trace routing from each output to its load must be impedance-controlled (typically 50 Ω) and length-matched within the group to minimize skew between the 11.2896 MHz copies.
