Why a dual-output MEMS oscillator saves a clock buffer
The DSC2311KI2-R0045T delivers two independent CMOS clock outputs — 50 MHz and 24 MHz — from a single 6-VDFN package. That means one oscillator replaces two cans and the buffer that fans them out, freeing board space and cutting the BOM count.
Temperature grade and deployment fit
It lives comfortably in outdoor telecom cabinets, factory-floor automation, and engine-bay electronics where a commercial-grade quartz can would drift or fail.
That translates to better shock and vibration tolerance — a MEMS die doesn't crack like a quartz blank when the board gets dropped — and faster start-up: the oscillator is stable within microseconds of power-on, versus milliseconds for a quartz can.
Microchip lists the DSC2311KI2-R0045T as Active.
