Dual-frequency MEMS oscillator for industrial clock trees
The DSC2311KI2-R0016 is an active-production MEMS-based XO (standard) from Microchip's DSC2311 series, delivering two independent CMOS clock outputs: 24 MHz on Output 1 and 50 MHz on Output 2. A single 2.25 V to 3.6 V supply rail powers both frequencies, which means one oscillator can serve two clock domains — for example, a 24 MHz MCU core clock and a 50 MHz Ethernet PHY reference — without a second crystal or PLL.
Temperature stability and supply tolerance
Rated ±25 ppm frequency stability over the full -40°C to +85°C industrial range, with the supply voltage varying across 2.25-3.6 V — the MEMS resonator's pull range stays inside that window, so the downstream PLL or UART baud-rate generator sees no timing drift across temperature or rail droop.
Housed in a 6-VDFN package measuring 2.50 mm x 2.00 mm with a seated height of 0.90 mm — the compact footprint fits dense PCB layouts where a traditional 3.2 x 2.5 mm crystal or oscillator would crowd adjacent decoupling capacitors.
