Dual-frequency MEMS oscillator – why it matters
The DSC2010FI2-B0014 outputs two independent LVCMOS clocks simultaneously: 26.973 MHz on output 1 and 27 MHz on output 2. That dual-frequency capability lets a single oscillator feed both a 27 MHz Ethernet PHY and a 26.973 MHz audio codec or SerDes reference, saving a crystal slot and the associated PCB real estate. No external load capacitors are needed; the MEMS die and the PLL are sealed in the 14-VFQFN package.
Supply range is 2.25 V to 3.6 V, covering 2.5 V and 3.3 V rails without an external regulator.
Package and mounting – 14-VFQFN exposed pad
The 14-VFQFN exposed-pad package measures 3.20 mm x 2.50 mm with a 0.90 mm seated height. Without that thermal via cluster, the junction temperature rises above the 85°C ambient limit under continuous 35 mA draw.
