200 MHz HCSL MEMS oscillator – BOM-fit note

The DSC1124CI2-200.0000T is a 200 MHz MEMS-based XO (Standard) with HCSL output, aimed at high-speed serial reference clocks such as PCIe Gen1/2/3 and 1000BASE-T Ethernet. The HCSL output swings 700–900 mV peak-to-peak into a 50-Ω terminated differential pair, matching the input requirements of most PCIe clock buffers and PHYs without external level shifting. Supply voltage range of 2.25V to 3.6V covers both 2.5V and 3.3V rails, so the same part can serve multiple voltage domains on the board — useful when consolidating BOM lines across a multi-rail design.

The 6-SMD no-lead package measures 3.20 mm x 2.50 mm with a seated height of 0.90 mm — a compact footprint that fits tight card-edge placements or mezzanine boards where vertical clearance is limited.

Enable/Disable and power budget

Active supply current is 42 mA max; disabling the output drops it to 22 mA max — a 20 mA saving per oscillator that adds up on multi-lane designs with several reference clocks.

Frequently asked questions

What is the frequency stability of the DSC1124CI2-200.0000T?

Frequency stability is ±25 ppm over the full operating temperature range. This is sufficient for most PCIe and Gigabit Ethernet reference clocks; tighter than ±50 ppm but not as tight as ±10 ppm used in precision timing applications like IEEE 1588.

How does the Enable/Disable function work on the DSC1124CI2?

The Enable/Disable pin gates the output. When disabled, the oscillator stops switching and the supply current drops from 42 mA max to 22 mA max. The internal MEMS resonator continues running, so the output resumes quickly when re-enabled — no start-up delay penalty.
