AEC-Q100 qualification and rework considerations
Rated AEC-Q100, which means it passed the automotive-grade stress tests: temperature cycling, ESD, and latch-up. The 6-SMD, no-lead exposed-pad package has a large thermal pad underneath — the board needs a via array to the ground plane to pull heat out of the MEMS die during reflow. Will it survive the hot air? The exposed pad wicks heat fast — preheat the board to 100°C before hitting the part with hot air, or the pad reflows before the leads wet and you lift the part, not the pad.
